Why Choose an Outdoor Sauna?
Are you thinking about adding an outdoor sauna to your garden? You’re not alone! Outdoor saunas are a popular home wellness upgrade in Ireland. Whether you want health benefits, a relaxing retreat, or a stylish addition to your space, this guide will help you choose wisely.
Outdoor saunas offer more than luxury; they provide real physical and mental health benefits, such as:
Detoxification through sweat, improved circulation and heart health, reduced stress and better sleep, relief from muscle aches and joint pain, immune system support and skin rejuvenation. An outdoor sauna creates a natural, private retreat that fits beautifully in your garden, patio, or woodland area.

✅ Space & Size
Measure your space carefully. Our saunas fit various needs, from compact designs to larger models for groups.
✅ Materials
Our saunas are built with high-quality Nordic Spruce or Thermowood. They require a paint treatment every 1-2 years for maintenance.
- Nordic Spruce: Traditional look, light wood, can be painted or stained. Featured in our Emerald & Vista Sauna models.
- Thermowood: Heat-treated for better durability and low maintenance. Featured in our Solas sauna (pictured here).
✅ Heater Type
- Electric Heater: Convenient and fast — needs a professional electrician, or
- Wood-Burning Stove: Traditional and atmospheric — available with our Vista Outdoor Sauna.
✅ Assembly & Installation
Our team offers on-site assembly in the Greater Dublin Area. You’ll need a solid, level base (like concrete or decking) for proper setup.

Assembly & Electrical Setup
At Timbertrove, we want your sauna installation to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. That’s why we offer a professional on-site assembly service for customers located in the Greater Dublin Area. Our experienced team will deliver your sauna, position it on your prepared base, and assemble it with expert care — so you can focus on enjoying your new wellness retreat.
A solid, level base (such as concrete, paving slabs, or decking) is required for all sauna installations. If you need advice on preparing your base, just ask - we’re happy to help guide you through it.

⚡Important Note on Electrical Setup
If you choose an electric heater, it must be wired and connected by a qualified electrician. This step is essential for safety and performance, and it is not included in our assembly service.
For customers opting for a wood-burning stove, we will install the heater in the correct position, and you will need to follow regular guidelines for chimney maintenance and fire safety.

Sauna Maintenance Tips
- Ventilate your sauna after each use.
- Clean interior benches and walls with a mild, natural cleaner.
- Apply UV-resistant oils or breathable paint to spruce models for exterior protection.
- Re-treat thermowood only if you want to preserve its rich color (otherwise, it will gracefully silver over time).
